Is Sienna's wax vegan friendly?

2 Min Read Wednesday 11th April 2018

Embracing a vegan lifestyle can be a challenge when many mainstream cosmetics contain animal products as standard. These ingredients (like honey, lanolin, collagen and tallow) are often used because they’re easier and cheaper to source than suitable alternatives.

But if you’re searching for a premium salon beauty brand that fits in with your ethical philosophy and champions cruelty-free production then look no further! All Sienna X warm waxes are free from animal ingredients, byproducts and derivatives so they are definitely 100% vegan and cruelty free.

This includes Honey Gold warm wax and Peppermint Creme warm wax, which are suitable for use on all areas from the legs and face to the back and bikini line. Peppermint Gelee warm wax is vegan too and because it’s also rosin-free it’s perfect for using on extra-sensitive skin — the mild formulation is super gentle but is tough enough to remove the coarsest of hairs cleanly without leaving behind a sticky residue.

We also have a line of hot waxes, which contain beeswax; a natural wax produced by honeybees. Technically beeswax is an animal byproduct so it can’t be described as a vegan-friendly ingredient. However, some dietary vegans are happy to use it and because we only use the more expensive refined variety of white beeswax in our wax blends we can be confident of its origins. The raw materials used in our formulations are the best on the market. When combined, they create a very high performance luxury wax that glides thinly over the thin, doesn’t snap and remains pliable.
