Get your tanning salon ready for summer
School’s almost out, the football is coming home (we hope!) and Wimbledon is in full swing. If those aren’t signs of the summer then we don’t know what is. Here are four simple ways to get your salon ready for the busiest season of the year:
Clean your equipment. A clogged spray gun nozzle will prevent solution from spraying outwards and damage your machine in the long run. A dirty gun where product has dried on the tip of the needle will also cause spattering and an uneven, patchy tan. Avoid these scenarios by maintaining all your equipment with regular cleaning and special deeper cleans over the summer when your business experiences more footfall. Stock up on spray tan solution. Summer is the busiest season for tanning salons so keep plenty of solution in stock to meet demand even if you’re unsure about whether you’ll use it all. It’s better to have lots of solution to fall back on than have to turn away clients at the door. Sealed bottles of Sienna X tanning solution have a long shelf life as long as they are stored in cool, dry conditions and aren’t opened and exposed to the air. Here’s more on how to store leftover tanning solution.
Refresh towels. Investing in new towels will make your salon look neater, cleaner and slicker. It’s a simple way to amp up your profile as a premium tanning service that won’t cost the earth.
Do a spring clean for summer. Dust areas of the salon that aren’t cleaned on a regular basis, like the skirting boards, light fixtures, display units, coat stands and storage spaces. You’ll be surprised at how removing a build up of dust can refresh your salon instantly. Opening up your doors and windows regularly will also air out any smells when the hot weather can make your treatment room feel muggy and warm.
