The Moment You Take Your Clothes Off

3 Min Read Tuesday 21st August 2018

I will never forget my first spray tan, it was for my 21st birthday. I had never been much of a self tan girl, I was always too scared that I would look like an Orange, streaky mess. So I decided to book a professional spray tan.

As I walked into the salon, I remember feeling completely out of my comfort zone. I had no make up on and knew that in a few minutes I would have to get semi naked in front of a complete stranger. The thought alone was enough to make me want to run back out the door. Sound familiar? I meet women each and every day that can relate to this and I’m sure you do too.

I understand that feeling of wanting to run and hide. The feeling of vulnerability you have when you are standing there in just a pair of black pants. Being apologetic for your cellulite or the few extra pounds that may have crept on.

But what was the alternative, for me to not do it and feel like that anyway or for me to get over myself and feel absolutely amazing afterwards? Yes! Exactly that! I truly believe a spray tan is so much more than a solution being applied to your skin, it’s a mindset game changer!

I can honestly say, I left that salon feeling slimmer, more toned and so different to how I walked in. I’m sure many of you reading this can resonate with it, but trust me when I say, the results and the way you’ll feel afterwards will make any trepidation you felt feel like a distant memory.

As Spray Tan Therapist myself, my aim is to make my clients feel comfortable and as relaxed as possible. Therefore, I wanted to share with you my top tips for putting your clients at ease…

  1. Be Friendly…

Remember how you felt or how you would like to feel if this was you. Make this a lovely experience for them. Talk your client through exactly what is going to happen so that they can feel relaxed from the beginning.

  1. Get to Know Them…

Talk about things they are doing. Is their tan for a special occasion? This will help take their minds off being semi naked in front of someone they’ve just met.

  1. Create a Calming Atmosphere…

Pop on some gentle music. This helps to not only relax your client, but also helps to fill natural silences that may occur.

Each and every client deserves to feel beautiful. You can help give them that feeling with not only an amazing tan, but a first class experience too.
