Do I have to take my underwear off for a high bikini wax?

A high bikini wax (or G-string wax) goes further than a basic bikini wax where only the hair outside of your knicker line is removed. With a high bikini wax treatment, hair is removed further in and further up from each side as well as from the area above the pubic bone, leaving behind a neater triangle/strip of growth.
This intimate waxing treatment is ideal if you wear high cut underwear or swimwear.
You don’t have to take your underwear off for a high bikini wax if you feel uncomfortable about revealing your body to your waxing therapist. In fact, lots of therapists require you to keep your underwear on for G-string waxes and remove it only for Hollywood and Brazilian waxes where all (or almost all) your hair is waxed off.
Instead you can simply move your underwear slightly over to one side as the treatment progresses and follow your therapist’s instructions. A towel will also be provided to preserve your modesty throughout. Holding your skin taut with your hands will reduce discomfort and offer some extra coverage too.
Lots of waxing salons provide disposable underwear that you can wear during your treatment to save your own garments from getting sticky with wax but you’re free to wear whatever you feel happiest in; your therapist will always work around your needs and comfort level.
