Quick solutions to your spray tan queries.

How does fake tan work? Sunless tanner contains a substance called DHA, which reacts with the air and the amino acids on the surface of the skin, causing the cells on the surface of the skin to darken.

Is sunless tanner safe? Yes, fake tan is completely safe to use. DHA is non-toxic and works by browning the top layer of the skin known as the epidermis; no self-tanner is absorbed deeper into the skin. However, we advise doing a small patch test before your spray tan treatment to ensure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients in our products.

How should I prepare for my spray tan? Shave or wax 24-48 hours before your treatment to reduce the risk of streaks and patches of colour appearing on the skin. Use a gentle exfoliator to remove any dead skin cells and create a smooth base ready for the application of fake tan. Avoid using deodorant, perfume and moisturiser on the day of your treatment to ensure that the fake tan can adhere successfully to your skin.

How long does a sunless tan last? A professional spray tan can last for more than a week if cared for properly with a regular moisturising routine. Moisturise your skin everyday following treatment to hydrate the skin and prevent your golden colour from flaking away.

How can I help my self tan last longer? Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Prolong Tan Extending Balm Sachet is fantastic for locking-in your sun-kissed colour and will nourish your skin, helping it to look healthy, youthful and attractive. Steer away from spending long periods of time swimming in the sea or in swimming pools to reduce the speed at which your tan fades off.

How often should I go for a spray tan?¬†An expertly applied fake tan can last well into a week and will gradually lighten as the days go on. The colour will fade off evenly and gently over the passage of time. It’s your choice how often you go for a spray tan – you may opt for a monthly treatment, book a session every week or simply visit the tanning salon for special occasions.

How long does a spray tan take? It takes about 15 minutes for spray tan to be applied to the entire body. Drying off can take a further 10-15 minutes so the entire process takes just 30 minutes in total. The guide colour takes 6-8 hours to develop fully at which point you can take a shower to wash off the excess product, pat dry your skin and reveal your bronzed colour.

Can a spray tan help me look slimmer? Yes indeed it can! Applying a darker shade of fake tan to the sides of the torso, arms, legs and chest creates the illusion of a slimmer physique. No hard work, no sweat and no visits to the gym. A spray tan provides a super-quick way to look leaner, toned and fit in just 15 minutes.

How dark will my fake tan go?¬†This depends on your colour choice. Discuss the options with your spray tan therapist and choose a colour that suits you. The 6% Tinted Spray Tan Solution is fabulous for adding a gentle but noticeable golden glow to the skin – it’s great for ‚Äòfirst time’ tanners. Darker tanning solutions, such as 12% Tinted Spray Tan Solution, are also available for people who want to achieve a burnished finish or a caramel hue.

Does fake tan cover stretch marks? Yes sunless tanner will camouflage stretch marks, blemishes and light scars. The solution will hide imperfections and even out skin tone. Adding bronzer, foundation or concealer can boost the effects too.
