Not everyone can twist and turn enough to fake tan their back without help. The good news is that if you haven’t got a friend who can lend you a hand, we’ve got a few tips that will make it easier for you to apply tanner to your back in those moments when you haven’t got anyone else to call on.
- If you’re flexible enough, you may be able to cover your back independently with the addition of a simple tanning mitt. This brilliant tanning essential has a large surface area so has much further reach than bare hands alone. Plus, the textured surface absorbs excess product, ensuring that your tanner is evenly applied in a thin layer. Use a mirror to help you see which bits you need to cover, swipe your hands over your back from left to right and allow the mitt to do the hard work for you.
- Some people like to fashion an extra long arm by tying their mitt onto a wooden spoon to extend their reach further — hold onto one end and you should be able to reach the centre of your back with ease.
- Another idea is to switch to a tanning spray that will mist your back in seconds. Sienna X fake tanning spray (1 Hour Self Tan Tinted Mist) features a 360¬∞ nozzle, which means it will work even if you’re holding the bottle sideways or upside down. Simply bend forward, hold the can above your back and spray across your body so the mist can gently settle on your skin.¬†You don’t need to blend this product but you can buff it in with a tanning mitt if you want to.
