Does moisturising make a fake tan last longer?
Ways to extend the life of your fake tan.
Follow our advice to make the most of your caramel colour.
Designed to enhance your natural beauty, a fake tan can add radiance, shine and a sun-kissed glow to your skin. Better yet, a single treatment can last for longer than a week if you take good care of your skin by using a simple moisturiser.
Fake tan works by colouring the skin cells on the top layer of the skin, which the body naturally sheds over time. However, keeping the skin hydrated can reduce the rate of sloughing and extend the life of your tan; the fewer skin cells that are shed, the longer your tan will last.
Be sure to moisturise your entire body from top to toe after a sunless tanning treatment. Keep this up every day and your burnished skin will remain gorgeous and golden for up to 7 days. Beyond this point you can help the colour along by using fast-acting products, such as the Sienna X Gradual Self Tan and Q10 Self Tan Tinted Mist, to boost your glow even further. Both of these Sienna X formulations are perfect for topping up a tan and adding a dash of extra colour to areas of the body that are prone to fading faster, like the hands and face.
The¬†Sienna X Gradual Self Tan can be applied to the skin in the same way as a moisturiser – simply rub it into the skin and you’ll be ready for action in moments. At the end of the day you can wash it off with a gentle product like the pH Balance Face & Body Wash, which is unlike other harsh shower gels and creams that can strip the skin of its colour.
Whatever you opt for we advise that you keep up with your moisturising routine for as long as possible – it’s great for feeding the skin with the hydrating nutrients it craves over the winter months and it will leave you feeling beautiful as well as bronzed.
