Can I bring a model to my spray tan course?

Booked onto one of our spray tanning courses? Welcome on board! Made up of a theory portion (that you can complete online) and a practical one day session at one of our teaching bases, our courses are industry renowned.

But can you bring along a model for the practical bit? Or do you have to get tanned yourself by one of the other students?

Normally we pair you up with a fellow student so you can work together during the day. This includes talking to each other about what you’ve learnt, acting as clients and using each other as models.

But don’t worry! You’ll practise with water spray rather than tanning solution until you’ve¬†mastered your technique. Once you feel confident you’ll be tanned by your partner and vice versa. There’s no need to feel apprehensive about being tanned by a student because your expert teacher will be monitoring it all to guarantee that you aren’t left with any streaks or patchy bits. In fact, you’ll probably end up with a flawless tan because you’ll all be concentrating so hard on getting it right.

We completely understand if you feel self conscious about using yourself as a model. However, we’d recommend it — it puts you in your client’s shoes, gives you a different perspective on the treatment and you get a free Sienna X tan along with your accredited qualification!

Bear in mind, each session is very small, everyone is made to feel comfortable and there are robes on hand at all times so you can cover up as soon as the solution has dried. It’s a friendly, judgement-free environment and it’s also lots of fun.

If you really don’t want to get in the tanning booth there’s an option to bring along a model as long as you talk to your instructor about it beforehand. Of course, there are lots of reasons why you might not want to get tanned. Perhaps you’ve got a skin condition, are pregnant or have had some cosmetic procedures that aren’t fully healed yet. Whatever your reasons, don’t let them put you off from booking onto a course! We’ll be happy to do everything we can to make you feel comfortable.
