Does a bikini wax hurt?
Does a bikini wax hurt?
Yes but the discomfort is mild and quickly subsides.
How long does my hair have to be for a bikini wax?
About 1cm long is ideal but even upwards of 1/2cm should be fine. The wax needs to grip onto the hair so that it can be removed from the root — a good length encourages a smooth final result.
Is my hair too long for a bikini wax?
If your hair is a bit longer than the ideal length you can trim it slightly at home yourself or let the therapist know who will either (1) trim it for you or (2) give you a few moments alone to do it yourself in the treatment room. Just be careful not to trim the hair too much!
How long does a bikini wax treatment last?
Professional bikini line waxers can get the job done within 15 minutes depending on the type of bikini wax you’ve booked in for. A simple bikini line touch up will be quicker than say a Brazilian or Hollywood wax where most or all of the hair is removed.
How long will it take for my hair to grow back?
It can take up to four weeks for full re-growth, which means you can ditch the razor and removal creams for a month! There may be some mild re-growth after 2-3 weeks but the hair will feel finer than shaved hair.
Can I choose a design for my bikini wax?
This is completely up to you. Most√Ǭ†waxing therapists will be happy to oblige if you let them know what you’d like to achieve. But be realistic about your design. Love hearts are common around Valentine’s Day.
What should I do to prep for my bikini wax?
Try to moisturise and exfoliate your skin in the days running up to your treatment. Exfoliating regularly discourages ingrown hairs and ensures that you get a smooth result.
Can I shave in between bikini wax treatments?
Yes you can but the best option is to book in for regular waxing appointments every 3-4 weeks so that the area is always silky smooth rather than stubbly.
