Waxing for the Busy Mum
Whether you are a working or a stay at home mummy, gone are the days you can easily nip out for your monthly waxing maintenance.

At home treatments have become increasingly more popular over the past few years. And it’s no surprise, with appointments available from first thing in the morning to last thing at night there is always a time to suit you and your busy lifestyle. Everything you need is delivered right to your door, in the comfort of your own home.
Whether the salons are closed by the time you get back from work, or whether you just want to get home to see the little ones before they go to bed after a long day at work, booking an at home wax¬†has never been easier. Or if you are a stay at home mummy, no need to book a baby sitter so you can visit the salon, just book your treatment around your baby’s nap time and make your experience stress and pain free!
Danielle Power (Sienna X Wax Ambassador and Elite Therapist at Secret Spa) gives us her top waxing tips to maximise your experience and minimise pain:
“GROWTH ~ Ensure your hair is at its optimal length for waxing this is normally around 4 weeks worth of growth or one quarter of an inch in length. If its too short the wax will not grab the hair and it won’t remove from the skin. If the hair is too long the wax will not adhere to the skin properly and will cause more pain on removal.¬†
EXFOLIATION ~ Make sure you exfoliate the skin at least 24 hours prior to your wax. Ensure only a light exfoliation to remove any dead/dry skin. Avoid harsh scrubbing as this can leave the skin more sensitive to pain.
MOISTURISE ~ Ensure you moisturise regularly on the lead up to the day of your wax. This helps to keep the skin healthy and stops the hairs being trapped under dry skin. Do not moisturise on the day of your wax as this can interfere with the grip of the wax.
PAIN RELIEF ~ 30 minutes prior to your wax take a pain killer to help minimise the pain.”
