Top 3 Tips for Preparing to resume Waxing treatments after Lockdown
The big day is nearly here, the one we’ve all been waiting for, eagerly awaiting every announcement – it’s finally time to reopen after a long hard winter!
We know how you feel – super excited, ready to get back to seeing and treating all of your clients and doing what you love! But is everything you need ready too?
1 Check your essential stock
It’s been a long while since everything’s been “normal” – trust us, we feel your pain! Before you start seeing clients again, take a quick look over your open treatment stock.
Pop the lids off your wax, pre and post essentials and any equipment and make sure they’re in tip-top shape! You should also count how many disposables you have to hand, paper strips, regular spatulas etc!
If you need any extra waxing stock for your busy schedule, go to our website and pop a few in your shopping basket so you’re thoroughly stocked before reopening!¬†
2. Deep clean your wax heater
Much like your wet product stock, a key player in providing your service is your wax heater, without it, you’d be pretty much stuck!
Double & Single Wax Heater
To make your heater sing and shine, heat a little of your wax within the inner bucket to ensure a smooth consistency for reopening, (and to double-check that it’s still working perfectly!)
As the heater cools, remove the inner buckets and wipe around both the heater chamber/s and outside of the inner bucket/s with the Wax Equipment Cleaner and dry. Repeat this each week or more frequently if you are not using the scraper bar enough as things get back to normal.
For the external housing of your Wax Heater, gently wipe around the exterior overall with Wax Equipment Cleaner. For the digital area, we recommend you use a dry cloth and a very small spray of antibacterial cleaner, as over time the font will disappear with continued cleaning with harsh chemicals.
Mini Brow Heater
Much like the Double and Single Wax Heaters, you want to ensure your Mini Brow Heater is in the best shape possible for reopening!
Since there’s not a scraping bar on this model, it can be a little tricker to keep looking pristine. Heat a little of your wax within the inner bucket to ensure a smooth consistency for reopening, (and to double-check that it’s still working perfectly!)
As the heater cools, carefully remove the inner bucket and wipe around both the heater chambers and outside of the inner bucket with the Wax Equipment Cleaner and dry.

3. Your Treatment Room/Area
Now that all of your equipment is clean and ready – why not turn your attention to your treatment area, essentials trolley and/or kit bag!
When it comes to waxing treatments; this is an intimate service and requires a lot of attention to detail. Now, more than ever hygiene and safety are imperative both before/after and during treatments.
Look at these spaces in the mindset of your clients, is there anything that you don’t like the look of? Things that need a wipe and popping in their proper place? Not only can a clean and tidy area give your clients confidence in your treatments, but ensures that safety for both of you is at it’s highest. This includes ensuring any wires are tucked away safely, everything is within a comfortable distance and even that there’s a safe space for your clients’ belongings!
Have a good clean up and invest in a beautiful new scented candle or reed diffuser to help you create a calm and peaceful area. If you’re a mobile therapist, consider giving your car a good clean – you wouldn’t turn up with dirty nails or equipment, so don’t let your vehicle tarnish your reputation either! You can even treat your mobile office to a snazzy personalised car magnet too!
