Nicky's Top Tips for Dealing with Stress
Nicky here, the founder of Sienna X! I wanted to take a moment to talk about something we all deal with: stress.
As passionate professionals and most of us running the household too, we juggle so much, and sometimes the pressure can creep in and throw us off balance. Here’s how I try to reduce those stress levels and remember to enjoy our life journey.
1. Prioritise Work-Life Balance (You Deserve It!)
Being your own boss or managing a team/business can blur the lines between work and you time. Trust me, the best thing you can do for your business is to take care of you, which I admit I still have to remind myself to do often!
Whether it’s a walk (I got a dog to help me, which I know is a commitment, but the time was right😊), even when I didn’t have a dog, I found a walk without my phone, made me look at nature, take in the smells, the sounds and the views, these parts are important, to be in the now and breathe.
A coffee with a friend, or just a slow morning without emails. Making time to recharge helps you show up as your best self, both in and out of work. Find out what your “things” are, what your quick happy’s are and list them somewhere to remind you and when you feel things are a bit too much, have a look at that list and make sure you do some of those happy’s.
2. Plan and Organise for Stress-Free Success
Chaos tends to show up when we’re unprepared. That’s why planning is your secret weapon. I highly recommend using our Business Centre – it’s packed with pre-made social posts, and helpful scheduling tools like our ever-handy business calendar to help you stay on top of your to-dos.
Prioritise what needs to happen, and allocate some time to think through your options. Download Chat GPT, AI is amazing for talking through the many options running through your head, it will even plan things for you. Focus you. Give it a go, you’ll be surprised how much it can help you.
When you streamline and plan your list, you make space for creativity, confidence, and calm. No more last-minute panics. Also cut down looking at your phone. I find I can waste an hour or two looking for things on Meta, and I could have spent those 2 hours getting a lot of work done at home, (I agree housework/decluttering is so easy to put off).
3. Stay Stocked Up to Keep the Stress Away
There’s nothing more stressful than running low on supplies when you’re about to treat a client. Keep your treatment room or bag stocked and ready, so you can focus on delivering those flawless results – not scrambling to restock at the last minute.
Top tip: set a regular reminder to check inventory. Or better yet, order in advance and enjoy that peace of mind.
