Introducing July’s Therapist of the Month


Our favourite time of the month!  We’re pleased to introduce you to July Therapist of the Month, Toni Keable who is a massive fan of the Sienna X wax.


Congratulations Toni – how does it feel to be our July Therapist of The Month?

I’m absolutely thrilled to bits! I’ve always loved Sienna X products and the friendly team behind them.


Tell us a little bit about your background, your business and your relationship with Sienna X so far…

I’ve been in the beauty industry for 19 years now (gosh I feel old) and have worked in various salons and positions but always knew I wanted to specialise in hair removal. I became a waxing specialist in 2012, working my way up to Company Trainer and Area Manager.

I recently took the plunge to go solo and have now become a self-employed therapist and it’s going great.

I used to use the Sienna X tanning range and loved it, so when I found out they were launching a waxing range, I couldn’t wait to try it, and I’ve not been disappointed!


What have you done to build up your client loyalty over the years?

I don’t think there are any magic tricks or shortcuts to gaining loyal clients, it’s simply about consistently providing an excellent treatment alongside great customer service. If you have a passion for your job, you are friendly and can put people at ease then they will return.


What has been your most successful marketing campaign/promotion to date?

I don’t do promotions/deals within my waxing business but I have noticed that over the years clients are becoming more educated about the Brands themselves and the different products and will often seek out therapists based on which brands they use, not just their skill. I love the fantastic range of marketing tools Sienna X have on offer to therapists to help them advertise which products they are using.


How much of a difference do you think using social media makes to your business? How do you find time to keep on top of social?

Social media is an amazing tool for Therapists, you can showcase your work, connect with other professionals and keep up to date with changes in the industry.

As an intimate waxing specialist it’s almost impossible to show off your work over social media without getting into trouble 😉 but I still try to stay active and find other ways to keep up interest on my social media pages, it just requires thinking outside the box.

Like most busy therapists, there’s hardly any time to dedicate to it so I literally jump on social media while I’m waiting for clients to get dressed/undressed or while I’m stuffing a sandwich in my mouth at lunch!


What has been the most memorable moment within your career so far?

Two moments really stand out for me:

The days when I get to go into colleges to give talks and demonstrations to the students are my favourite. I love teaching and am so passionate about raising the profile of excellent waxing. I am delighted that waxing is gaining so much momentum and publicity at the big beauty events, and is starting to get more detailed coverage in the education syllabus.

And secondly, the nationwide charity ‘waxathon’ event I helped to organise for the ‘Balls to cancer’ charity. It was fantastic to see so many of the industry professionals pull together to help raise money and awareness for male cancer.


Finally – if you were on a desert island and you could only take 1 Sienna X product, which one would it be and why?

Luckily I use the Sienna X waxing range so wouldn’t need to worry about being hairy for a few weeks, so I would choose the Radiance Body Balm to keep my skin looking fabulous ready for the gorgeous Jack Sparrow to come and rescue me 😉
