When should I get my Christmas spray tan?

Tan a few days in advance and retain your colour with daily moisturising.

Top up a tan that’s started to fade with Express Tanning Mist or Instant Bronzing Gel.

Spray tanning a couple of days before Christmas will ensure that your golden tan looks rich and radiant for the season’s festive parties. However, we all get busy around this time of year so it can be tricky to squeeze a treatment in around our hectic schedules.

So when’s the earliest you can get a spray tan without it fading away before Christmas arrives? Anything up to five days before the big day should be fine as long as you make sure that you moisturise daily to retain your colour for as long as possible.

Try to moisturise as often as you can and your tan should stick around for up to seven days (or perhaps even longer). Take short showers to avoid a premature fade off and don’t visit the steam room or sauna as this can lighten a tan too early.

By the time Christmas arrives your colour should still be beautifully golden and balanced. However, if your tan has started to fade on areas like the hands, feet and face you can top up your colour at home using Express Tanning Mist with Q10. Simply spray onto lighter areas, blend in with a tanning mitt and allow the product to develop for two to four hours before washing off in the shower.

If you’d like to deepen your spray tan before a special event, like the office Christmas party, but are short on time you can amp up your colour with Instant Bronzing Gel.

This fast acting tanner creates a caramel colour on the skin in seconds and can be washed off at the end of the party. It’s the perfect short-term tan and is ideal for layering up over an existing tan that has started to fade.
