How to clean a fake tanning mitt

2 Min Read Friday 14th November 2014

Warm, soapy water is all you need to clean your tanning mitt.

Re-shape your tanning mitt while it’s damp and allow to air dry after cleaning it.

A textured tanning mitt can really help to create an even-looking tan on the skin by gently buffing in the product. It protects the hands from becoming stained and it’s the perfect low cost beauty investment because it can be used over and over again if cleaned regularly.

So what’s the best way to clean a Sienna X tanning mitt or glove?

Hand wash your tanning mitt in warm water to remove excess tanner and clean the surface fibres. You can add a touch of soap to the water to remove stubborn stains. However, you don’t need to use any harsh washing powder or detergents.

Gently wring out any water and re-shape the mitt while it’s damp. Once it’s dry you can put it away ready for your next tanning session. As long as you care for your tanning mitt properly, you can continue to use it over and over again. However, if you use fake tan more than once a fortnight you may find that it needs replacing in six months.

Don’t put your tanning mitt in the washing machine as this could alter the shape. Also, avoid hand washing your tanning glove with other garments. Any residual tanner that’s soaked into the fibres could come out and transfer onto other items. Remember to allow your mitt to air dry; putting it in the dryer could cause it to shrink or become damaged.

Our new Apply Self Tan Mitt can be used to apply any of our tanning products, such as the Sienna X Tinted Self Tan Lotion, Q10 Self Tan Tinted Mousse and Express Self Tan Mousse.
